Alabama Man Accused of Killing Woman, Burning Body

Autumn Paige Strickland, 38, was last seen on May 16, 2025, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

From Search to Suspicion
On May 20, Florence police arrested 28-year-old Logan Rogers at a home on North Wood Avenue — the same location where officers later uncovered human remains in a burn barrel. The remains are believed to be Strickland's, though forensic testing is underway to confirm the identity.
Police initially charged Rogers with attempted murder, but the charge was swiftly upgraded to murder once the remains were found. Investigators allege that Rogers intentionally struck Strickland with her 2012 Kia Soul on May 17 — not once, but twice. Court documents indicate that after hitting her the first time, he circled back to hit her again, then returned about 30 minutes later in a pickup truck to retrieve her body.
Evidence Mounts
According to a report by WAAY-TV, video surveillance from a nearby business appears to support the claim that Strickland was struck twice in the same location. Her cell phone was also discovered at the scene, further tying the incident to Rogers.
Police believe Rogers attempted to dispose of the body by burning it in a barrel at his residence. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not yet released a possible motive. As of now, Rogers remains in the Lauderdale County Jail without bond.
