'Blue Bloods' Actor Convicted of Murder in NY Shooting

A jury found Isaiah Stokes, an actor who has appeared on "Blue Bloods," "Power" and "Law and Order: SVU," guilty of second-degree murder and two charges of criminal possession of a weapon for a Feb. 7, 2021, shooting. He could face life in prison.
'Revenge'
In a Queens County District Attorney press release, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said the March 7, 2025 conviction followed a jury trial for the deadly shooting of Tyrone Jones in St. Albans, a neighborhood in Queens, New York. The victim was sitting in his parked Jeep Cherokee, waiting to meet a friend for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Authorities believe the shooting is revenge for a fight between Stokes and Jones in October 2020.
Escalated Altercation
Stokes and Jones first met at Jones' birthday party in Queens in October 2020. When Stokes began reportedly acting inappropriately toward women at the event, the two men got in a fight, the press release said. Afterward, Stokes was reportedly hurt by other partygoers when he refused to leave the party after Jones asked him to. The release said in January 2021, Stokes put a tracking device on Jones' car.
'Stewed for Months'
Using the device to find Jones' location Feb. 7, Stokes found Jones parked outside a restaurant, where Jones was meeting a friend for lunch. Stokes approached the Jeep and fired into it 11 times. Jones was wounded in the head and chest and later pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. "This was a calculated murder," Katz said in the release. "The defendant, a part-time actor, stewed for months after being thrown out of a birthday party for his own inappropriate behavior. Intent on revenge, Isaiah Stokes placed a GPS on the victim's car and tracked Tyrone Jones down to Linden Boulevard, where he ruthlessly shot the man 11 times as he sat in his car."
Stokes' Arrest
Later that day, Stokes drove the car back to his apartment in Rego Park before returning it to a rental business. During the investigation, authorities searched Stokes' apartment, where they discovered papers linking him to the tracking device they had found under Jones' car. Stokes was arrested July 16, 2021, at his apartment with help from the NYPD's Regional Fugitive Task Force. "My office is laser-focused on gun violence, and we will utilize every tool at our disposal to investigate, arrest and prosecute those who use deadly guns on our streets," Katz said in the press release. "I thank our prosecutors and the NYPD detectives who built this case. The jury has now spoken, and the defendant faces up to 25 years to life at sentencing for his criminal actions."
Stokes appeared in two episodes of "Blue Bloods" between 2012 and 2015. He also appeared in episodes of shows like "Power," "The Americans," "Boardwalk Empire," and "Law and Order: SVU."
Isaiah Stokes' conviction for the murder of Tyrone Jones has brought attention to the dangerous consequences of violence and revenge. This case serves as a reminder that actions driven by anger and past conflicts can have serious and lasting effects on everyone involved.
