Florida Man Faces Murder Charges After High-Speed Chase Ends in Tragedy

A Florida man's misguided revenge plan ended in tragedy when police say he mistook a random couple for his ex-girlfriend and her friend, launching a high-speed chase that ended in death. The drama unfolded in St. Petersburg, Florida, on the evening of March 9, 2025, when 33-year-old Kyle Hill, fueled by rage and, reportedly, a lot of alcohol, allegedly set off on a reckless pursuit. His target? A Honda he was sure contained his ex. The problem? She wasn't in that car.

Wrong Car, Wrong People, Worst Outcome

Inside the Honda were 28-year-old Arislenni Blanco-Medina and her boyfriend, 35-year-old Norbelis Figueredo-Campos. The couple, recent immigrants from Cuba, had been enjoying a peaceful night out when their evening took a terrifying turn. Hill allegedly chased them aggressively, making horrifying threats to his ex over the phone.

"I got you. I'm going to kill you, your friend and myself," he reportedly told his ex, according to FOX 13. Unfortunately, Blanco-Medina and Figueredo-Campos were the ones in real danger.

A Deadly Pursuit Ends in Tragedy

As Hill allegedly sped through the streets at twice the legal alcohol limit, the chase ended with a devastating crash. Police say Hill forced the Honda off the road and into a concrete pole, which then collapsed onto the car, crushing it. Blanco-Medina tragically lost her life at the scene. Figueredo-Campos survived but sustained severe injuries, including a broken femur and two broken ankles.

Meanwhile, Hill lost control of his own vehicle and slammed into a tree. Police say he had been driving 60 mph in a 35-mph zone. Initially facing charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide, he now stands accused of first-degree murder and attempted murder.

The Victims: A Story of Dreams Cut Short

Blanco-Medina and Figueredo-Campos came to the United States with hopes of building a better life. "His dream, obviously, was to bring his girlfriend, his partner, here with him so she could provide for her daughter and her parents in Cuba," Figueredo-Campos' aunt said in Spanish at a press conference, as reported by Law & Crime.

Blanco-Medina's family described her as full of life and joy. "You would go to her house, and you would always hear music, and she would always be dancing," her cousin Nicole Galvan said, according to Law & Crime.
