Florida Woman Arrested After Attacking Fast-Food Manager Over Missing Sauce

A Florida woman's craving for a popular fast-food condiment landed her in hot water after a heated argument at a Raising Cane's® restaurant in Clearwater turned violent. McKenzie Anne Keeling, 31, is now facing a felony charge.

The Case of the Missing Cane's Sauce

The incident began when Keeling picked up her mobile order from Raising Cane's, a popular chicken finger chain. After driving away, she discovered that her order was missing eight containers of Cane's Sauce, the chain's signature condiment. Frustrated, she called the restaurant and told them she was returning to collect the missing items.

Upon her arrival, Keeling was greeted by the restaurant manager, Tatyana Herbert. Herbert provided the missing sauces but declined Keeling's request for additional free sauce as compensation for "wasting her time and gas," as reported by The Independent. That's when Keeling allegedly became violent.

A Lanyard, a Leg, and a Whole Lot of Drama

Witnesses and CCTV footage captured Keeling's increasingly hostile behavior. According to court records, she began yelling, creating a disturbance that upset staff and customers. At one point, Keeling hit Herbert on the leg and attempted to grab a lanyard holding the manager's keys and employee ID.

The altercation reportedly left Herbert in fear, and the use of force led authorities to charge Keeling with strong-arm robbery, a felony offense. Two Raising Cane's employees witnessed the incident, and video evidence corroborated their accounts.

The Cost of Losing Your Cool

Keeling was arrested and later released on a $2,500 bond. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and her attorney has yet to comment on the case. Keeling's Clearwater, Florida, residence, a $1.2 million waterfront home owned by her parents, is located about 10 miles from the restaurant where the dispute occurred.

Raising Cane's, known for its "One Love" slogan and chicken finger meals, charges just 39 cents for an extra container of Cane's sauce. For Keeling, the cost of losing her cool likely will prove to be far greater. This investigation is ongoing.
